Privacy Policy

Ice Breaker helps people at the same place meet each other. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@meeticebreaker.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (stored only in hashed form) so you can sign in.
- Your card: the name, tagline, interests, "ask me about" and fun fact you choose to add, plus an optional photo you pick from your library.
- Check-ins: the place you choose to check in at and when. We don't use GPS or track your location. You pick the place yourself.
- Places: the name and area of any place you add to the list.
- Waves and messages: the waves you send and the messages you exchange with other people.
- Safety: people you block and any reports you send, including what you write in them.
How we use it
Only to run Ice Breaker: to sign you in, show your card to people checked in at the same spot, deliver waves and messages, and keep the community safe by reviewing reports. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
Who can see it
- Your card is visible only to people checked in at the same spot as you, while you're both there. Check-ins end automatically after 3 hours.
- Messages are visible only to you and the person you're talking with.
- People you block can't see you, and you can't see them.
- Your email address is never shown to other users.
Services we use
We use Supabase to store accounts, cards, photos and messages, and Resend to send sign-up emails. They process data only on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and card until you delete them. Expired check-ins are no longer shown to anyone.
Your choices
- Edit your card or remove your photo at any time in the app.
- Delete your account at any time in the app under My card > Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, card, photo, check-ins, waves, messages, blocks and reports.
- To get a copy of your data, or if you can’t sign in to delete your account, email support@meeticebreaker.com from the address you signed up with. We'll do it within 30 days.
Age
Ice Breaker is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
